Lloyds suprimirá 570 empleos

El banco Lloyds Banking Group informó hoy de que suprimirá 570 puestos de trabajo y externalizará 560 a otras compañías como parte de una reorganización de la institución.

Los recortes afectarán a las áreas minorista, de seguros y de recursos humanos, y las áreas afectadas son Chester (noroeste de Inglaterra), Escocia, Londres y Manchester (norte inglés).

Con esta medida, el número total de empleos suprimidos por el Lloyds en los dos últimos años asciende a más 26.700.

"El Lloyds Banking Group está comprometido a trabajar con los empleados durante estos cambios de manera cuidadosa y sensible. A todos los empleados afectados se les ha informado", señaló el banco en un comunicado, y añadió que se ayudará a la gente en la medida de lo posible a buscar otros puestos dentro del banco.

Los sindicatos fueron consultados antes de este anuncio y seguirán siendo informados durante el proceso de recortes de empleos, añadió la institución bancaria.

El portavoz del sindicato Unite, David Fleming, dijo hoy que esta noticia será recibida con "desesperación" por el personal.

Hace dos semanas, el banco anunció beneficios de 2.200 millones de libras (unos 2.596 millones de euros), unos resultados que consiguió con el trabajo de su personal, recordó Fleming.
