El sector asegurador español mantiene un alto nivel de empleo con un total de 158.000 personas, de los que se estima que 47.000 son empleados de aseguradoras y el resto de mediadores. Una de las principales características es la estabilidad del empleo en el sector y las oportunidades que genera, como se refleja en las opciones para trabajar en redes de agentes, corredurías, etc., para desempleados con perfil emprendedor. Juan Antonio Martínez Gijón, manager de división Finanzas y Seguros en Michael Page, en una jornada organizada por el Ayuntamiento de Madrid, explicó esos aspectos y cuestiones como que la estabilidad se demuestra también en que el empleo fijo representa el 97,69%, frente a una tasa del 2,31% de temporalidad.

Entre otros datos, expuso que el Estudio de Remuneraciones de Michael Page muestra que actuarios y suscriptores fueron posiciones técnicas muy demandadas en el sector en 2010 y siguen siéndolo en 2011. También que se trata de un sector con alta concentración en Madrid y Barcelona; inmerso en alta profesionalización; es un sector sólido y estable pese a la coyuntura económica.
